From Palermo to Catania

Day 1.
Arrival at Palermo Airport and transfer to the hotel. Day free. Welcome Drink and briefing of your Tour Escort. Dinner in restaurant.
Day 2.
After breakfast full day visit of Palermo and Monreale, including “Cappuccini” catacombs, Monte Pellegrino and Mondello. Lunch and dinner in restaurant. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 3. 
After breakfast departure for Segesta and visit of the archeological site ( temple and theatre ). Proceed on to Erice. visit of the medieval town near Trapani. Continue to hotel Baglio Santa Croce ***or similar and lunch.  Dinner and overnight.
Day 4.
Breakfast and departure for Selinunte and visit of the famous archeological site. Lunch in a local restaurant. Set off to Agrigento. Visit of the Valley of the temples. Dinner in a typical pizzeria. Overnight.
Day 5.
After breakfast departure to Piazza Armerina an visit of the “Roman Villa del Casale “. Lunch at the restaurant .
In the afternoon stop and visit of Caltagirone , the capital of Sicilian pottery. Continue to Taormina .Dinner and overnight.
Day 6.
Breakfast and departure for a half day visit to Mount Etna. Lunch in a local restaurant. Return to Taormina, walking tour in the old town. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7.
After breakfast full day visit of Syracuse , the most important city of the Greek ancient world after Athens. Visit of the archeological site and of Ortigia Island . Lunch at the restaurant . Return to Taormina, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 8.
After breakfast transfer to Catania Airport .

Excursion Etna-Taormina

Departure from Taormina Port or Messina Port. During the trip you will enjoy many beautiful sceneries. Mount Etna, with a bit more than 10.000 feet above sea-level, is the highest and largest active volcano in Europe. You will accend it from southern approach climbing up to the rifugio Sapienza at 5.906 ft. From here, a nice walk, through a spectacular lunar landscape, will lead you to the Crateri Silvestri formed in 1892. Free time for shopping  and tasting from the wide selection of  natural honey (eucalyptus, pistachio, strawberry, orange, lemon, coffe and many more). Once you are here you cannot miss to taste the really strong Fuoco dell Etna. Facultative excursion is possible from 5.906 ft to 8.202 ft.
The excursion continues with the visiting of Taormina, which stands on a rocky plateau on the slopes of Monte Tauro, dominating the Ionian coast. A nice promenade through the town will allow you to see the magnificient Greek-Roman Theatre, the Palazzo Corvaja (seat of the first Sicilian parliament in 1411), and then continuing walking through Corso Umberto you will reach a nice panoramic square, where the churches of Sant Agostino, San Giuseppe and the Porta dell Orologio are. Passing through this ancient gate you will reach the severe battlemented 13th century Cathedral of Saint Nicholas and the baroque fountain which stands in front of it.
Free time for shopping and for lunch.
Return to Messina/Taormina port in the afternoon.

Departure from Palermo Port or Hotel.
Our itinerary starts in Palermo, in the heart of the city center, at Teatro Massimo, one of Europe s largest operahouses. Then we continue at Quattro Canti, a square that has four magnificent eighteenth-century palaces with convex facades looking down onto it. From there you can arrive in Piazza Pretoria, where you can see the fountain of the same name and the Municipal building. Behind the City Hall, you can admire the unique Martorana Church, and San Cataldo Church.
From Piazza Pretoria we go to the Cathedral Square. After admiring this splendid piece of architecture and the treasures kept inside it, go on to the majestic Palazzo dei Normanni. We suggest you visiting the Cappella Palatina, one of the most beautiful chapels in the world.
Escursione Corleone-Palermo Escursione Corleone-Palermo
After Palermo, we drive to the famous village in the heart of Sicily, Corleone. Here we visit The Cathedral of San Martino Vescovo of the late 1300s, The Santuario della Madonna del Rosario di Tagliavia. Walking on the streets of Corleone you can see how the typical Sicilians live their life. We stop for lunch in a restaurant  in Corleone and then back to Palermo Hotel or Port.
On the way back we have a photo stop at The Bosco della Ficuzza. In the late 16th century King Ferdinand of Bourbon made Ficuzza his hunting lodge.

Excursion Cefalù-Palermo

The excursion starts from the port of Palermo/Trapani or from your hotel.

The first stop is in Cefalù, a medieval town founded by the Norman King Roger II during the twelfth century, on the site of an earlier settlement.
It was splendid under the Normans, while Frederick II called it urbs placentissima. During our walk through town, we will visit the Norman Cathedral with its glittering Byzantine mosaics, which include the over-powering figure of the Pantokrator. Then on to the Medieval Washhouse and to the old port for a view on Cefalù s defence walls and gates. A visit of the Mandralisca Museum will allow you to see the painting of the Unknown Man, a masterpiece by Antonello da Messina, and one of the few which are housed in the fifteenth century Sicilian painter s homeland. Free time to roam around the town s lovely shops and for lunch.
