Excursion Corleone – Palermo
Departure from Palermo Port or Hotel.
Our itinerary starts in Palermo, in the heart of the city center, at Teatro Massimo, one of Europe s largest operahouses. Then we continue at Quattro Canti, a square that has four magnificent eighteenth-century palaces with convex facades looking down onto it. From there you can arrive in Piazza Pretoria, where you can see the fountain of the same name and the Municipal building. Behind the City Hall, you can admire the unique Martorana Church, and San Cataldo Church.
From Piazza Pretoria we go to the Cathedral Square. After admiring this splendid piece of architecture and the treasures kept inside it, go on to the majestic Palazzo dei Normanni. We suggest you visiting the Cappella Palatina, one of the most beautiful chapels in the world.
After Palermo, we drive to the famous village in the heart of Sicily, Corleone. Here we visit The Cathedral of San Martino Vescovo of the late 1300s, The Santuario della Madonna del Rosario di Tagliavia. Walking on the streets of Corleone you can see how the typical Sicilians live their life. We stop for lunch in a restaurant in Corleone and then back to Palermo Hotel or Port.
On the way back we have a photo stop at The Bosco della Ficuzza. In the late 16th century King Ferdinand of Bourbon made Ficuzza his hunting lodge.
